Glowing skin, is a condition of healthy skin that is hydrated so that it seems to emit a luster.

1. Wash your face twice a day

If you have acne-prone skin or have oily skin, don’t think of washing your face as part of your morning and night skincare routine.

At the end of the study, there was a significant improvement in acne lesions in those who washed their face twice a day.

Participants who only wash their face once a day, experienced the greatest increase in acne.

So, make sure your face is washed twice a day.

2. Use a gentle cleanser

Expensive cleaners are not necessarily the best cleaners.

Mild cleansers without a lot of ingredients and fragrances can work better than expensive soaps.

3. Apply an acne-fighting agent or acne-fighting agent

According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), many topical therapies can help fight acne.

The key to finding the most effective is knowing what type of acne you have.

Depending on the type of acne you have, the AAD recommends the following:

4. Apply moisturizer

Like cleansers, moisturizers don’t have to be expensive or filled with fancy ingredients.

More importantly, look for a moisturizer that is non-comedogenic.

If you have oily skin, a moisturizer labeled “mild” may be best for preventing heavy greasy feeling.

Some people feel they should switch to a heavier moisturizer during the winter months when the cold, dry air can leave skin feeling tight and dry.

5. Exfoliate

Exfoliation can help remove excess dead skin cells.

If these cells stay on the skin for too long, they can clog pores and cause acne.

The buildup of dead cells on the face can also make the skin look dull, flaky, or prematurely aged.

How often should you exfoliate?

It depends on the type of exfoliator you use.

For chemical exfoliants, such as masks or lotions, use them once or twice a week.

For physical exfoliants, such as scrubs or brushes, apply three or four times a week.

6. Get enough sleep

Lack of sleep can also cause skin breakouts more often.

According to a 2015 study, more than 65 percent of study participants said that those who feel tired also have acne.

The study’s authors theorize that sleep deprivation can, in some cases, cause the body to release inflammatory compounds.

These compounds can cause cracking of the skin or make acne worse.

To stay healthy both inside and out, aim to get seven to nine hours of good sleep every night.

7. Choose makeup that does not clog pores

A study found that people who use cosmetics appear to be more likely to experience skin breakouts.

To make sure it’s skin-friendly, make sure to:

Use products labeled “noncomedogenic” or “oil-free”.

Always wash your hands before applying makeup or skin care products.

Always remove makeup before going to bed or exercising.

Wash makeup brushes and sponges weekly.

8. Don’t pry the skin
