Google Launches New Program For Selected Game Developers On Play Store

CALIFORNIA – Google released several announcements regarding the Games Developer Summit on the Play Store.

One of these is Google’s initiative to launch a new “Google Play Partner Program for Games” which provides additional tools for some of the biggest developers and studios on Google Play.

According to Tech Crunch, Wednesday (16/3/2022) the benefits of this program include improved business support from Google Play and faster releases with priority publish queues.

It also includes pre-launch tools such as pre-registration testing, passcodes, and store listing experiments for pre-registration campaigns.

The program also comes with additional security protections, including automatic approval for use of the Play Integrity API.

Google also announced the “Play as you download” feature in the Play Store is coming soon to all Android 12 users. This feature was first launched as part of a beta program last year. Google did not provide additional information about the launch date.

Google started rolling out Google Play Games for PC Beta in select markets in January. The standalone Windows PC application allows users to play a “high quality catalog” of Google Play games.

Previously, Google has also updated the Android Game Development Extension to allow debugging between Android Studio, the integrated development software for Google’s Android operating system and Visual Studio, Microsoft’s integrated development platform.

Google has also fully rolled out the Android GPU Inspector Frame Profiler to help developers achieve better frame rates and battery life.
